Used as a quiet retreat for the public, this garden is part of an extensive community recreation complex.
The Sensory Garden is a four-season garden with lovely blooms from Spring flowering plants such as: Helleborus, Daffodil, Forsythia, continuing with Iris, and Astilbe.
Then continuing into Summer with: Spider plant, Marigold, Zinnia, Coneflower, Monarda and Roses. Autumn color is accented by: Verbena, Teri aster, Chrysanthemum ‘sheffield’, Canna, and Goldenrod.
There are plants to attract pollinators, including two types of milkweeds for the butterflies.
These attractive flowers and bushes are least tempting to the deer herds that live in the park.
White pine and English Laurel provide a peaceful backdrop to the Winter snows.
Club members maintain the garden from April through October every Monday from 8-10 am.
