September 28, 2023 Meeting





Program: “Ancient Flower Pounding”, Carol Feinstein



Carol presented a workshop on the ancient Cherokee Art of transferring the shape and dyes from flowers to a natural fabric.


Carol has been teaching painting and drawing to children and adults for over 9 years and has attained a BFA in illustration and graphics, as well as a degree from FIT in Textile Design. She has been a part-time instructor at West Windsor Arts Council. Her designs have been showcased in Woman’s Day, Talbots, and other presentations.



October 26, 2023 Meeting





Program: “Wild Birds and Birds of Prey”, Heather Natola



Heather will present interesting information about the natural history and care of owls, hawks, eagles, and other raptors.


You will hear about the care and assistance that the Raptor Trust provides for approximately 50% of all injured, sick, or orphaned wild birds admitted to their center.




November 16, 2023 Meeting





Program: “How to Grow and Care for Orchids in New Jersey”, Kim Feddersen



Kim will discuss the care and growing of Orchids available in New Jersey as well as other orchid types. He will elaborate on what an Orchid is, where they grow, and cultural requirements.


Kim has been a hobby grower of Orchids for 25 years and is a third generation of “Orchidholics” and is a member of the North Jersey Deep Cut and Manhattan American Orchid Society.




December 14, 2023 Meeting





Program: Holiday Social



There will be a short business meeting followed by a Holiday Luncheon. Members will also enjoy a social game of White Elephant. If you would like to participate, please bring a $5.00 item to trade. This can be a purchased item or homemade.




January 25, 2024 Meeting





Program: “The Language of Flowers”, Layce Gephard



Layce from Hunterdon County Extension office will be our speaker. The topic will be flowers that are used at happy celebrations and other occasions. They are symbols of love, friendship, and encouragement.

Layce will discuss the meaning of flowers throughout history. She will focus on the Victorian era when flowers were used to communicate secrets and sentiments.



February 22, 2024 Meeting





Program: “The Important Role of Backyard Stewardship in Forest Restoration”, Laurie Cleveland



The 90 square mile Sourland Mountain region is home to the largest contiguous forest in Central New Jersey. It encompasses a complex ecosystem of forest, wetlands, and grasslands. Today the mountain acts as a watershed for communities, while at the same time providing recreational opportunities in Central New Jersey.


Laurie, the Sourland Conservancy Executive Director, will share the goals of the Sourland Conservancy to promote, protect and preserve the unique character of the Sourland Mountain region – a refuge of nature and cultural diversity.




March 28, 2024 Meeting





Program: “America the Beautiful: Celebrating our National Parks”, Walter Choroszewski



Walter has been a leading advocate of New Jersey pride since 1980 when he was commissioned to photograph the state for a book project. He has published over 18 books and is the inspiration for creating the iconic state tourism campaign “New Jersey & You Perfect Together!” For over 30 years he promoted New Jersey through speaking and programs.



April 11, 2024 Meeting





Program: Tour of Diana Reinhardt’s Daffodil Garden



This will be a business meeting, followed by lunch, after which members will proceed to Diana's home for the garden tour.


Diana’s daffodil garden was started in 1985 and has been added to for years. Now the garden has about 2,000 bulbs (flowers) but the flowering time stretches over 6 weeks. Starting with Tete-a-Tete in early spring to the late season, multiple varieties flower with several stems per bulb. Prime time is mid-April with 30 different varieties covering many different divisions of daffodils.



May 16, 2024 meeting





Program: Plant Auction - this is also an annual event



Our annual fund-raising plant auction will be held at the Station House.

Are you planning to re-organize your garden or thinking of thinning out those perennials, shrubs, trees etc.? Then bring them to our plant sale and let your fellow members enjoy growing something new. For those of you who cannot bear to part with a single multiplying perennial or other plants, herbs, bushes, trees, etc., here are a few reasons to share.

1. If you bring them to this yearly event, they will become treasured acquisitions to some of your fellow members’ gardens.

2. You may find something you have always wanted to plant in your own garden.

3. You will help bring in some “green” for the garden club.

4. You can be part of the (hopefully) good-natured bidding that will add to the day’s fun.

Gardening questions will also be answered before the auction. Bring cash or your checkbook and get ready to bid!



June 12, 2024 Annual Meeting





Program: Tour of Drumthwacket, NJ Governor’s Mansion, Lunch at Lenny’s Restaurant, Installation of Officers 2024 – 2025




CHANGE OF VENUE

Our June Meeting will start off with a tour of Drumthwacket Mansion at 11:45 am, followed by a tour of the gardens. Please arrive by 11:30 am. Drumthwacket is located at:

We will tour the residence used by our governors, which includes highlights of the history and architecture of the home. Also included is the collection of art and antiques used in these beautiful rooms.


Drumthwacket was built in Princeton N.J. in 1835 and first occupied by the 19th governor of NJ, Charles Smith Olden. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in June 1975 for its significance in agriculture, architecture, commerce, landscape architecture, and politics. It is now known as “The People’s House”.
